This violin is unlabeled, but my luthier believes it to be a French violin circa early 20th Century or older. It is constructed of beautifully flamed maple back, sides, neck, and scroll. The top is fine grained spruce. This violin has plenty of volume, yet its tone is deep, even, and mellow. It has been professionally set up with New Pirastro Tonica Strings and tail-piece with built-in fine tuners.
This is a French violin labeled "Jean Baptiste Vuillaume". It has the characteristic power yet mellow, even tone of French fiddles. The fine selection of woods matches its pleasing tone.
